  • Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.

Suspect Someone is Lying to You

I suppose we have all wondered at times if we were being lied to. Sometimes we could care less other times we probably would like to know particularly if it is a significant other or a co-worker. The article below lists 10 ways to find out. I have just included the 10 from the list but did not include the basic text for them. Click on the link to read in more detail.

10 Ways to Catch a Liar

Experts have 10 tips that can let you know if someone isn't telling you the whole truth.
By Heather Hatfield
WebMD Feature Reviewed By Louise Chang, MD

J.J. Newberry was a trained federal agent, skilled in the art of deception detection. So when a witness to a shooting sat in front of him and tried to tell him that when she heard gunshots she didn't look, she just ran -- he knew she was lying.

How did Newberry reach this conclusion? The answer is by recognizing telltale signs that a person isn't being honest, like inconsistencies in a story, behavior that's different from a person's norm, or too much detail in an explanation.

While using these signs to catch a liar takes extensive training and practice, it's no longer only for authorities like Newberry. Now, the average person can become adept at identifying dishonesty, and it's not as hard as you might think. Experts tell WebMD the top ten ways to let the truth be known.

Tip No. 1: Inconsistencies
Tip No. 2: Ask the Unexpected

Behavior Changes and Gut Reactions
Tip No. 3: Gauge Against a Baseline
Tip No. 4: Look for Insincere Emotions
Tip No. 5: Pay Attention to Gut Reactions
Tip No. 6: Watch for Microexpressions

Contradictions and Too Much Detail
Tip No. 7: Look for Contradictions
Tip No. 8: A Sense of Unease
Tip No. 9: Too Much Detail
Tip No. 10: Don't Ignore the Truth
"It's more important to recognize when someone is telling the truth than telling a lie because people can look like they're lying but be telling truth," says Newberry.

Torture or Necessary Coercion?

I often do not agree with Bill O'Reilly but occasionally he makes sense. But the liberals and John McCains position on terrorist interrogation is utter nonsense. McCain was tortured by the Vietnamese who had signed the Geneva convention but failed to abide by it, as have none of the countries we have ever gone to war with. So his position that it will endanger US troops in future wars by interrogating terrorists is misguided. Thus I am posting this editorial in full.
Tough Terror Talk

Tuesday, September 19, 2006
By Bill O'Reilly

Now, I've got a question for you tonight: If terrorists captured your child, what kind of action would you support? That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo."

Let's stop all the nonsense, shall we? A month ago, two FOX News journalists were captured by terrorists in Gaza. Their lives obviously were in danger. Thank God they were released.

But if some terrorist was captured, and had information about where these guys were being held, are you telling me the authorities can only ask them name, rank, and jihad number? Is that what you're telling me John McCain, Colin Powell, and other senators who oppose coerced interrogation?

Thanks to Newsweek magazine, we now know what we're talking about. As you may know, the military, thanks to the McCain bill, can now not do anything to coerce information out of suspected terrorists -- nothing at all. In fact, according to The Wall Street Journal, American police have more latitude in interrogating criminals than the military has in questioning detainees captured on the battlefield.

Now there's a debate over what the CIA can do. The president wants the agency to be able to use the following techniques: cold rooms, forced standing for a long period of time, sleep deprivation, grabbing a suspect's shirt, slapping a suspect's belly, and using loud noise and bright lights. That's it. That is the torture nation.

In an unbelievably foolish display, far-left [New York Times columnist and] Princeton Professor Paul Krugman poses this question. "Why is Mr. Bush so determined to engage in torture?"

Well, here's your answer, professor, not that you'd ever consider anybody else's point of view but your own. The president's trying to stop attacks on Americans. Get it, sir?

We tried to get some of the senators opposed to coerced interrogation on “The Factor” this evening. Most of them are hiding under their desks. That's because they know the American people realize this whole debate is absolutely ridiculous.

Breaking it down, when lives are at stake, name, rank and jihad number doesn't cut it. And I believe there will be a compromise on the Senate floor. And President Bush will get the power to order the CIA to use tough interrogation methods.

I also believe the debate has hurt Senator McCain, and Colin Powell, and others who put a torture label on things that are obviously not torture.

Causing a suspected terrorist discomfort is necessary at times to get information. Those techniques have to be closely monitored and used only with presidential approval. But enough is enough with this baloney. We're fighting a war here. All the theory in the world is not going to defeat the enemy -- who is laughing at us as this debate takes the Senate floor this week. They're laughing at us.
And that's "The Memo."

Cardinal says Muslim reaction to Pope validates Quote

Violent Muslim Reaction Justifies Pope's Stated Concerns, Cardinal Says
By Patrick Goodenough
CNSNews.com International Editor
September 19, 2006

(CNSNews.com) - As the Vatican continues trying to placate Muslims angered by Pope Benedict XVI's recent remarks, a senior Catholic leader has said the violent response justified the concern the pope had been expressing in the first place.

Citing threats of violence against the pope in Somalia and Iraq, Archbishop of Sydney Cardinal George Pell said "the violent reactions ... showed the link for many Islamists between religion and violence, their refusal to respond to criticism with rational arguments, but only with demonstrations, threats and actual violence."
"It is always someone else's fault, and issues touching on the nature of Islam are ignored," he said.

"Our major priority must be to maintain peace and harmony within the Australian community, but no lasting achievements can be grounded in fantasies and evasions."
In an academic speech in Germany last week, Pope Benedict, without qualification, quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor's assessment of Islam and its seventh century founder.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached," the pope quoted Manuel II Palaeologus as saying.

"To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death ..." the emperor had said, according to the pope.

The speech at Regensburg University included an appeal for dialogue based on "reason." Read more.

Follow up on Penis in Microwave Case

The end has come for the perpetrators in a case previously reported on, on this site Bizarre - Cooking Male Body Parts in Convenience Store!
Woman Pleads Guilty in Fake Penis Case

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) -- A woman pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with a bizarre incident in February that resulted in a fake penis being microwaved at a convenience store.

Leslye Creighton, 41, of Wilkinsburg, entered the plea Wednesday, and authorities dropped the same charge against Vincent Bostic, 31, of Pittsburgh, who has agreed to help pay $425 to replace the store's microwave, police and the couple's defense attorney said.
Police in McKeesport, about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, said the Feb. 23 incident began when Bostic filled a fake penis with his urine that they said Creighton planned to use to pass a drug test to get a job.

The two stopped at a GetGo! convenience store and, after wrapping the device in a paper towel, asked a store clerk to heat it up in a microwave, police said. Authorities said they believe Creighton wanted the device heated so the urine inside would be at body temperature during the drug test.

The clerk, however, believing the lifelike device to be a severed penis, called police. Read more.

Muslim anger grows over pope’s remarks
Pakistan parliament condemns what it calls ‘derogatory’ words about Islam
Updated: 1 hour, 20 minutes ago

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan’s parliament unanimously condemned Pope Benedict XVI on Friday for making what it called “derogatory” comments about Islam and demanded he apologize.
The Vatican has said Pope Benedict did not mean to offend Muslims with remarks he made in Germany this week about Muhammad and holy war.
In a speech, Benedict quoted a 14th-century Byzantine emperor as saying, “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Muslim clerics, organizations and Web sites have expressed outrage at the pope’s remarks.

Turkey’s top Islamic cleric asked Benedict to apologize and unleashed a string of accusations against Christianity, raising tensions before the pope’s planned visit to Turkey in November on what would be his first papal pilgrimage to a Muslim country.

190 Taliban Fighters allowed to Walk Away?

This makes no sense at all, a drone has 190 Taliban in its sites and US army lets them go due to the fact that they were in a cemetery and US rules of engagement do not allow it. Gimme a break, rules of engagement are for countries that follow them not terrorists who have no rules of engagement of their own other than to kill and maim anyone and everyone.
War on Terror: In It to Win It?
Wednesday, September 13, 2006
By E.D. Hill
Yes, you heard it correctly: 190 Taliban fighters were in sight of a U.S. drone when U.S. intelligence officers were told they could not bomb them because they were standing in a cemetery.

The fighters were gathered, close together, to attend a funeral, but soon disbanded and quickly disappeared into the mountainsides. NBC News reports that U.S. Army officers were blocked by the rules of engagement that forbid a missile or bomb strike in a cemetery although, in Iraq, battles have occurred in cemeteries before. Sex-With-Corpse Scheme Busted
Woman's obituary photo spurred Wisconsin trio's grave robbery attempt
SEPTEMBER 6--
When Nicholas Grunke last week spotted a newspaper photo of Laura Tennessen, the Wisconsin man apparently became so smitten that he plotted a rendezvous with the 20-year-old woman. But the photo Grunke saw accompanied an August 27 obituary of Tennessen, who died in a motorcycle accident. Undeterred, Grunke allegedly plotted with his twin brother Alex and a friend, 20-year-old Dustin Radke, to rob Tennessen's grave so that he could have sex with her corpse. Details of the trio's degenerate scheme are contained in a criminal complaint filed yesterday in Grant County Circuit Court.
n a police interview, Radke said that he and the Grunke brothers stopped at a Wal-Mart to buy condoms on their way to the cemetery. The necrophilia plot was disrupted Saturday night when police received a report of a suspicious vehicle near St. Charles Cemetery in Cassville, where Tennessen is buried. When confronted by a cop, an "very nervous" Alex Grunke admitted to the grave robbing scheme, noting that his cohorts were then digging up Tennessen's coffin. Read the rest if you can stomach it.

Crop circles, are some of them from an unknown origin? We know many are man made.
Circular Sightings Tough to Explain
A Swath of Crop Circles Leaves Experts Pondering Their Cause

By BEDE MOORE, ABCNews.com
(Sept. 1) - For centuries they've puzzled people by their curious appearance.
They crop up in fields across the globe, in patterns ranging from the simple circle to the DNA double helix.
This year they're popping up all over the Midwest, with recent sightings in Geneseo, Ill.; Sandyville, Ohio; and Huntingburg, Ind.
"But the real question that comes up is, what exactly are they?" said Stan Friedman, a nuclear physicist and author of the book "Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident."
That's the question that always has everyone talking.
From crop circle designers and top-level researchers to the baffled farmers who usually find them, nobody really knows the origin of crop circles. Read the rest.

This must have been a hard decision. Man with 2 working Penises has one removed! Yikes
Are you SURE you want to remove that?
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - An Indian businessman born with two penises wants one of them removed surgically as he wants to marry and lead a normal sexual life, a newspaper report said Saturday.
The 24-year-old man from the northern state of Uttar Pradesh admitted himself to a New Delhi hospital this week with an extremely rare medical condition called penile duplication or diphallus, the Times of India said.
"Two fully functional penes is unheard of even in medical literature. In the more common form of diphallus, one organ is rudimentary," the newspaper quoted a surgeon as saying. Read the rest.
